Enayat and Jamal are Afghan refugees who live in a camp in Peshawar and try to escape to Great Britain by the help of people traffickers. Their dangerous journey leads them along the "silk road" through Pakistan, Iran and Turkey towards London. Based on the true stories of too many real refugees Michael Winterbottom’s and Tony Grisoni’s gripping story has been hailed as one of the most important films of the year. To make the film as realistic as possible the film was made with a minuscule crew and the actors had to cross several borders illegally to be able to continue. US Distribution by United Artists.
